Create a New Course Automatically with AI

Introduction

With Mentortools' AI feature, you can create new courses in no time without having to write every section manually. In this guide, we'll walk you through the entire process, from setting up the course to the final customization of your content. This is ideal for coaches, trainers, or companies that want to create content quickly, efficiently, and yet individually.

Open Mentortools

• Go to your Mentortools instance: 👉 app.mentortools.com.

• Log in with your admin access.

Navigate to "Courses"

• In the left-hand sidebar, click on "Courses" to open your existing course overview.
  

Switch to the "Overview" Tab

• Here you will find a list of all your previous courses. Click on the "Overview" tab.

Click on "Add new Course +"

• Now select "Add new Course +" to start the AI creation process.

Choose "Generate Course with AI"

• Mentortools will now open a new window with different course options. Select the "Generate with AI" button to have a proposal created by artificial intelligence.

• A window will then appear where you must fill in the required information so that the AI can create a draft of your course.

Give Your Course a Title

• In the "Course Name" field, enter the title of your course. The name should be clear and communicate the benefit (e.g., “Dog Training 101”, “Fundamentals of Online Marketing”…).

Define Your Target Audience

• Consider who the course is for (e.g., “beginners”, “sales teams”, “dog owners,” etc.). This information helps the AI structure the content.

Formulate the Learning Objectives

• What should the participant know or be able to do after the course? (Example: “Teach tricks, condition the dog, build dominance”).

Add a Course Description

• Enter a precise but inspiring description. This is the text that your participants will see first later on.

Set the Number of Modules

• Consider how many units or modules your course should have. This number influences how the content will be structured.

• In the last step, select the language for your online course (in which language the structure should be created).

Click on "Generate Course"

• The AI will now create a complete course proposal with a structure and texts based on your entries.

Select a Suggestion

The AI has created 3 proposals for the structure of your online course. You can request more proposals (by clicking on "Other suggestions...") or choose one of the options that you like best.

• You can now choose between several design templates. Click on "Structure 1" (or another suitable option).

Click on "Customize Course"

• Now you can individually edit content such as texts, titles, or the order of the modules.

Adjust the Course Structure

• In this step, you can edit, delete, or add to the individual lessons or modules. For example, you can add a lesson about the author, insert next steps, or remove lessons/modules that are not needed.

• You can easily change the title of the individual modules/lessons by overwriting the name.

• You can also change the order of the modules and lessons. To do this, hold the module or lesson at the marked spot (3 dots) and drag it up or down in the list.

• If you want to delete one of the modules or a lesson, click on the red cross icon next to the module or lesson and simply delete the element.

If you want to add a new lesson to a module, enter the name of the new lesson in the empty field at the end of the module under the lessons and click the "Add Lesson" button. The lesson will be added to the respective module.

Click on "Create Course"

• Save and publish your new AI-generated course by clicking on "Create Course".

• The generated course can be found in the list of all your courses—right at the end of the list. Now you need to add your specific content to the individual lessons.
